40k Battle Report - Grey Knights vs Chaos Daemons

Grey Knights vs Chaos Daemons - 6th Edition - 2000 Points - (July 28th 2012)

The regular GK player I play against is going out of the country for a month, so we decided to get one last game in before he heads out.  He feels bad to keep bringing GK against my Daemons but I keep telling him I don't mind.  So he brought his GK's for a couple last games before he leaves.  This time I decided to go with a more Fluffy list, I brought all Khorne, which also will work out in my favour because I can get Blessing of the Blood God, which gives me a 2++ against force and physic weapons.  But with the new preferred enemies I am still at a huge disadvantage.  But these games are for fun so I am not worried.

Here are the lists:

Grey Knights
8 Terminators (Deep striking)
1 Land Raider
1 Gunship
Crowe
10 Purifiers w/ halbreds, hammers and psycannons
10 Purifiers w/ halbreds, hammers and psycannons

40k Battle Report - 500 point Combat Patrol Tournament

The local GW store held a combat patrol tournament this week end, the rules are simple:
No named characters
Nothing with a 2+ Armour save
Nothing with more then 2 Wounds
Nothing with more then 33 Armour value all round
At least one troop choice

So I decided to enter and bring some Daemons to the party.  I got the rules wrong and thought you had to bring one HQ and one Troop choice, so I would have liked to bring 3 Flamers instead of my Herald of Khorne but oh well.

Here is the list I brought:
8 Bloodletters
8 Bloodletters
3 Bloodcrushers w/ Fury of Khorne and Instrument of Chaos
Herlad of Khorne /w Iron hide, Unholy Strength

I did not get any pictures for this because the games were fast and there was so much going on.

My preferred wave is:

3 Bloodcrushers w/ Fury of Khorne and Instrument of Chaos

Second Wave:
8 Bloodletters

40k Battle Report - Apocalypse Game

  Apocalypse Game!

Hey guys, so this week was my local GW stores birthday bash and they had a massive apoc game for everyone to join.  I showed around mid turn 2, (turns were 45 minutes each) and stayed for only 1 turn because it ended up taking almost 2 hours and I had to leave (first apoc game, didn't realize it was so long)  The only rules were they models had to be painted with at least 3 colours, here is what I brought:

Chaos Daemons:
10 Bloodletters - Icon, Instrument of Chaos
10 Bloodletters
10 Bloodletters - Icon, Instrument of Chaos
Skulltaker
Daemon Prince - Wings, Iron Hide, Unholy Might, Mark Of Khorne, Death Strik, blessing of the blood god

Competition to Beat all 4 Fantasy Greater Daemons 1 on 1

So the competition was simple, 1 on 1 against all 4 greater daemons to win. Little did I know they were using the storms of magic book for their stats. If you are not aware of storms of magic greater daemons they all have at least, strength 7 toughness 7, 7 wounds and at least (I think) 7 attacks, plus extras.

If you defeated a daemon, you became the champion of that god and received a card that let you bolster the stats of the character that slain the daemon in the next fantasy tourney. The prize was a blister that GW no longer makes. I won by using Skulltaker (yes I know cheesy but I was the only one who killed them all)

Here are some pictures and my prize:

Nurgle was the first to feel my wraith

Next came Tzeentch

Finally took down the Bloodthirster and then Keeper of Secrets

Squig chasing a Goblin chasing a Squig

Painted version of my prize: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod20013a

Overall it was a really fun day, they also had a massive apoc game which lasted all day, I took part in a bit of it and the pictures/battle report are in my next post.

Thanks

- Brendan

40k Battle Report - Ork vs Chaos Daemons - Game 1

Ork vs Chaos Daemons - 1000 Points - (April 27rst 2012)

This week I was able to make it to the LGS for a game or two, excited to play my Daemons I didn't even bring my Orks.  Turns out you can not escape the green tide, as I ran into a Ork player who agreed to play.  He made a 1000 point list (I swear it will get 1500 points soon).  He was a nice guy and the first game did not realize my Daemon list was all Khorne (I did tell him all my units and their upgrades) and he did not realize I only had two range attacks per turn so he has a few units in his list that are not going to be a big help.  Lets get to the Action.

Here are the lists:

Orks:
12 Trukk Boyz - Nob w/pk, bosspole
10 Trukk Boyz - Nob w/pk, bosspole
12 Ard Trukk Boyz - Nob w/pk, bosspole
Big Mek - KFF
5 Biker Boyz - Nob w/pk, bosspole
15 Stormboyz - Nob w/pk, bosspole

Chaos Daemons:
10 Bloodletters - Icon, Instrument of Chaos
10 Bloodletters - Icon, Instrument of Chaos
Skulltaker
Daemon Prince - Wings, Iron Hide, Unholy Might, Mark Of Khorne, Death Strike
Daemon Prince - Wings, Iron Hide, Unholy Might, Mark Of Khorne, Death Strike

We rolled off and got Pitched battle and seize ground, we rolled the D3 and got a 5 so that 5 objectives, going to be a tough game with only two troop choices.

Daemons preferred wave was the 20 Bloodletters and Skulltaker, with the second wave being the Princes.

We rolled and I won, and gave him first turn.
